This Care Certificate Assessors Award course is aimed at all staff responsible for observing and assessing new staff in their care organisation. Each student will learn what is required by internal assessors and how they can observe and assess the fundamental Care Certificate standards.

  • How to record and store assessment decisions, who should they be made available to and the data protection and confidentiality guidelines that should be followed.

  • Standardisation processes and how to contribute to these
  • The value and purpose of continuing professional development for assessment practitioners
  • Guidelines for assessment planning
  • Potential risks in the process and how to manage these
  • How to determine for much evidence is enough to make a decision
  • Factors to consider when providing feedback
  • Current criteria which assessments are made and the current regulations
  • How to co-operate and work effectively with others involved
