A Dignity in Care (3 modules) is a basic course on person centred practice, equality and diversity which will help you identify what you know and do well already and build on what you are learning at work.
It will help you achieve Skills for Care Common Induction Standard 1:The Role of the Health and Social Care Worker and also provide underpinning knowledge for Qualification Credit Framework units SHC 22, 23, 24, 32, 33, 34 and HSC 024, 025, 026, 036.
This course will help delegates understand the need to promote, rights, choice, privacy, independence, dignity, respect and partnership; understand the need to promote equal opportunities and respect the different cultures of the individuals you are supporting, know how to support privacy and dignity; understand the importance of finding out the history, preferences, wishes and needs of the people you are supporting, make sure that everything you do is based around the individual and ensure they control their own lives and make informed choices about the services they receive.
This one day course which is aimed at Care Staff working in Care Homes, Day Services, Home Care and Personal Assistants is facilitated by Chris Garnier.
