About the course:
This course prepares learners to appropriately assess and provide emergency intervention for deteriorating service users whilst waiting for the medical professional. Reviewing most common medical emergencies in the community, nursing and residential homes:
• What is dysphagia
• Signs and symptoms
• The normal and abnormal swallow reflex
• Which foods put service users at risk?
• Assisting someone with their eating – what to do, and what not to do
• Managing an emergency
About the tutor:
Our Dysphagia and Swallowing training courses are delivered by subject matter experts within the field, this include Registered Nurses or Paramedic Tutors.
