This Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (Adults) for England is a Nationally Recognised Qualification – 601/6319/7 (Verify Here)

As with all QCF qualifications, this outstanding course has been written and designed to meet national occupational standards. They are designed with the help of employers so you can be assured that you’re gaining skills that employers are looking for.

There are no specific entry requirements for this qualification, so you have an ideal opportunity to “break into” the health and social care sector by studying it.

If this is a career change for you, then this qualification will set you up perfectly. It’s also recommended pre-study for the Level 3 Certificate for the Children and Young People’s Workforce (QCF).

You need to achieve a minimum of 46 credits. You can choose to achieve any of the following 3 pathways:

• Generic Pathway
• Dementia Pathway
• Adults with Learning Disabilities Pathway

Each pathway has its own specific requirements, which includes some mandatory units and a balance from others chosen by the candidate.

Generic Pathway

Learners must achieve:

all 9 mandatory units in the Mandatory Group
at least 2 credits but not exceeding 7 credits from Optional Group A
at least 23 credits from Optional Group B

Learners are free to choose whichever units they like relevant to their role.

Dementia Pathway

learners must achieve:
all 9 mandatory units
at least 2 credits but not exceeding 7 credits from Optional Group A.

This must include unit 13: Understand the process and experience of dementia at least 23 credits from Optional Group B.

This must include at least one unit from the following list:

Unit 50: Enable rights and choices for individuals with dementia whilst minimising risks
Unit 51: Understand and enable interaction and communication with individuals with dementia
Unit 52: Equality, diversity and inclusion in dementia care practice


Learning Disabilities Pathway

Learners must achieve:
all 9 mandatory units
at least 2 credits but not exceeding 7 credits from Optional Group A.

This must include unit 22: Understand the context of supporting an individual with learning disabilities at least 23 credits from Optional Group B.

This must include at least one unit from the following list:

Unit 98: Support person-centred thinking and planning
Unit 99: Provide active support

Learners wishing to progress from this qualification can undertake the following qualifications:

Level 3 Certificate for the Children and Young People’s Workforc
